mardy fish plays sydney a lot and i've watched him a few times. he's the typical modern game, plays big and fast. which means that he'll want to hit arnaud off the court if he's on song lol

is it still as hot in ny?

Arnaud playing nice and solid, even though he is 2 sets to 1 down, he has a chance. Loving his variety, lots of brilliant shotmaking. Go Clement!

Lost in five 64/36/46/61/36

it was totally winnable but it hasn't been . Lot of wind at the beginning, by moments Arno played really great he made a numbers of backhand winners today nice variety in the shots selections. He can have some regrets on the second set where he missed many opportunities and of course in the fifth where he was broken twice. That was close really pity . From what i saw today the level of his game can still be good, play an american on Amstrong surely help for today. I don't know what will be his main feeling after that match He missed his chance that's obvious but he played a good tennis match.

Unfortunatly I could not watch the match, I just followed online, pfff so much stress...
In general messages, they say like you soulage, arnaud played great, especially at 4th set.
That's a pity, for once, I thought he was going to win (yes, I was optimistic! lol) in the beginning of the 5th set.
Can't wait for his itw, I'm curious to know if Arnaud will be satisfied about his game, so quite happy, of frustrated by the defeat, so angry...LOL

off topic: I don't hope so (!!!) but if Bennet can't play in 2 weeks (it seems his injury is not too serious, good !), I wonder if Forget will call Arnaud for double.
(Imagine ... arnaud, mika...on the same court...I mean, as teammates ! )

Me i have mixed feeling cos on the game Arno was deserving the win today and it's Mardy who got it . He will surely stay on the regrets imo at least tonight
The end of season will be less exciting but near home Since RG he played well in Wimbledon and here 2 GS surely not a coincidence.

he definitely rose up to the challenge, he's a big match guy

(still recall he losing to nobody's at challengers not so long ago)

once again i'll point out that he's got plenty of points to defend towards the end of year, so it's important that he keeps this up

He has at 98% his place in the AO MD now as he won 544 points since the start of the year and this week the 100th in the ranking has 530 points. But true he has 262 points to defend until the end of the year

I always dislike Mardy so i'm not happy about the result and that game he missed at 2-3 in the fifth for me he was the better player on court except in the third.

Some interview in french i will try a summary later
Quote:

US OPEN - 3e tour

Mardy Fish (EU,19) bat Arnaud Clement (FRA) 4-6 6-3 6-4 1-6 6-3
Prochain adversaire : Djokovic.

Arnaud Clément a bien vieilli !

MERCI Soulage
Audio itw's still not online on FFT, qu'est-ce qu'ils foutent ! lol

This kind of itw reminds me WHY I love this guy and why I've been supporting him for 9 years !
(well ok, not always the best supporter lol)

Happy to see he had much fun in this match.

In some cases, it's better to stop
Anyway, the french football team would need much more Arnaud's !!!!!
He could coach them...

That's so cool Marine, my sister is a fan for 9 years too! Since AO 2001, Arnaud will never get rid of it.
I always liked him since that time, but really became a fan when Bruno joined him in 2004. They were just an irresistible couple, these two cute French brothers on the Tour.

And Arnaud as a coach for the French team, now that would be something!

To sum up this. He's not too much disappointed he prefers lost like this than like in the past weeks. He takes pleasure when he plays at this level. Indeed he plays for this playing good on big court that's why he loves tennis and will continue next year. he's happy about the level of his game and knows that he was playing like that all the season there would have more good results. He regrets than there is not mant tournaments as fast as USO as it's better for his game.
About DC he repeats that he will never annonce his retirement from international team like do some football players. He knows that there is better player than him in single and in double that's why he's not selected.

I've never understood why he plays better on very fast surfaces
He has not an offensive game.
