I've a feeling Andy will be just fine. He was just trying to get some matches under his belt, having not played since the upset at Wimbledon. Now he knows what he needs to work on and should improve on his way to the US Open.

Andy's nearing the end of his career. Every win is just gravy for me now. I'm not upset when he loses.

Hi Mimi and other lovely Rafafans!
The Austin tournament looked pretty nice from what I saw (the semis and the final). It was great to see Big John back doing well after the historic Wimbledon match, too bad he lost the final to Mardy but Mardy seems to be in great shape.

I like Isner more too, very unfortunate to lose a tournament final on a tie break. But I'm sure he'll win a tournament on the US hard courts soon.

Awwww sorry about the heat in Germany Mimi.
Usually it is NOT that hot, at least not for that long. Last time the heat wave like that was in 2006 I think.

Well, tennis is kinda boring without Rafa indeed but he needs some more rest before the gruelling US tournaments. And I could use some more break too, he's gonna be back soon enough. You could watch the WC and beach photos meanwhile.

Hi MariaV! Exactly! Rafa is playing for history now. I don't want him back a moment too soon. In fact, I'd rather he only plays Toronto, then the US Open. Rafa has given us thrilling matches that can keep us occupied until he's in action again. I've watched the last set of Wimbledon 2008 final, the whole Miami 2004 3rd round match, and the Roma 2006 5th set. I might even revisit the 2005 RG final, though I must admit I enjoy the victories over Federer more.

Oh, Roma 2006 final got me absolutely , that was one helluva final! Not to mention the Wimbledon finals that have always made me extremely nervous.

I agree, I think he should skip Cincy too and only play Toronto in the build up to the Open. That might be too little match-play on hardcourt though, so maybe it actually is important he plays Cincy. I think we all want just him to be as fresh and as injury free as possible for USO once it arrives.
I've been rewatching AO '09, an amazing tournament start to finish. Rafa's matches against Gonzalez, Verdasco and of course Federer were particularly memorable. He was on fire in that tournament and was an absolute joy to watch.
