hopefully he gets some better draws because his opening rounds in these last 4 torunaments have been brutal

giraldo , gasquet, kuznetsov and now nadal

no wonder the poor kid has gone out in the first round 3/4 times

4ace and 8dfs!

but Kei did well at net, loved his volleys

All I hope is that he will keep improving and learn from these matches. He can do better!

Yeah I hope the draw god will be kind to him in the US hard court season.
And he needs to stop those DFs on important points.
But it's such a pleasure to watch the variety in his game. Hope he keeps it up!

One thing i can say about the match is that Kei was really fun to watch! He wins points that you don't normally expect. I am particularly very impressed with his volleys, some of the pick-up shots was damm sick! I think the audience as well was particularly impressed with Kei's performance as it was evident on the applause after the match. If he could have taken advantage of some of the opportunities and won a set it might be a different story.

On the negative side though as already mentioned here before Kei at some points tends to hit his shots with flare or shall i say too extravagant. Sometimes a simple shot is already enough to win a point but Kei on the other hand tries to spice up the shot. Well maybe because he is still young that is why he constantly do it. However if it is really part of his game and his personality so be it, he just needs to be really consistent especially in critical times.

You know what guys usually after the match when my favorite players loses, i usually get sad and really it affects my mood. But this time when Kei lose to Nadal i was even smiling. Maybe because it was really a fun match to watch and i knew that Kei will play better next time. As the commentator said after the match, we'll saw this player for sure many times!

Excited on the HC season. Hope Kei gets a better draw next time!

I agree with all of this. Very well-said. In particular, I underline the natural "flair" that Kei demonstrates...and also just his good-natured demeanor. He is an easy guy to root for.

That's all very true and I'm so thankful to have found such a terrific player whom I really enjoy watching and create so much excitement for me

Afterall, Nadal is the current world No.1 and defending champion of 2008, gotta respect that.

okay, as much as I like to watch Kei play the "big" players on such a big stage, it's time for him to get a decent draw so he can work his way up the rankings. What is his next event?
