Today, August 12th, I say that at least one of those Alternates spots will be for David Nalbandian.

Soderling is near to qualify! He need only to get Semifinals on Stockholm!

In the sense that every player in the ATP is an alternate you are correct, but Nalbandian will only be ranked around #27 so he's 19 in line for an alternate spot.

Melzer will surely be one alternate, since he's there for the doubles anyway.

Re: London Singles Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated November 11, 2010)
Wasn't one of the alternates last year really low ranked? Ljubo in the 20+ range or something? I really never got that, they get paid just to show up(well maybe the money doesn't matter anyways) and get a chance albeit small to play with the best in one of the most prestigous tournaments.. Sounds like a no-brainer to me to show up if you are healthy.
