Roland Garros 2010
Far be it for me to totally jinx Gael by starting a tourney thread in his forum (its happened before) but there's going to be a riot at his match! Is anyone watching?
I can't believe Fognini agreed to play on, his coach was screaming at him

Re: Roland Garros 2010
saved 3 MP in the dark on one leg. He's lucky that Fognini he's a chocker as he lost 8 games in a row between the fourth and the begining of the fifth and could have been 0-4 down in the last set.

Re: Roland Garros 2010
The plummy English Eurosport commentator is totally scandalised that they played on to 5-5 in the last set Rusedski's saying Gael should be punished for warping the crowd and the Tournie Referee into playing on
Oh Gael, just as well you won that last game saving 3 MPs as well Good luck tomorrow!

Re: Roland Garros 2010
The match should have been stopped since ages as it was totally dark. They switch on all the lights around the courts It was ugly tennis with a lot of tension but when you don't lost that it can push you. Tomorow he has big big chances to win and then he can improve his level even if Stan is not Fognini. When he reached semi two years ago he played also awful at the beginning of tournament. With gael we never know what can happen.

Re: Roland Garros 2010
Maybe it could have been the best excuse from Gaël if he lost today
the video they showed on tv was impressive it was impossible to see something...
Seriously he played crap, having a break in the third and after a double break in the fourth and almost lost the match
I was watching other match but each time i was looking at it it was just
He will probably win but how long will be the 5th set? Maybe he can beat the record of the longest match

Re: Roland Garros 2010
I've just seen the 5th set from 3/2 and.. OMG what a crazy match ! Just amazing to see them playing while it was so dark ! (chamoulaud: on demanderait presque aux spectateurs d'allumer leur briquet LOL)
I know Gaël played very badly but in the end he was so crazy, I love the fact he didn't want to stop, I'm sure it was for the crowd. Respect !
Allez, win tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!

Re: Roland Garros 2010
What happened? I stopped watching when Gael was two sets and a break up?
GM does not really give any objective information.

Re: Roland Garros 2010
Silly Monfils shouldn't have got into this mess! But here we are...here's hoping Rasheed kicked his lazy ass and he'll get it done today.

Re: Roland Garros 2010
Woah, what the hell happened ? I was expecting a quick win, I didn't follow anything and here it is when i wake up this morning Was there some kind of injury involved, did Fognini play the fire out there on the last sets ?

Re: Roland Garros 2010
Ermh. I still don't grasp this match, I should not have stopped watching yesterday when Gael was in control. Today he had nothing left, Fognini dropshotted him at will.

hmmm, I didnt notice that. Obviously Fabio had some unpleasant crowd interaction but Gael looked like he kept to himself as they got off court.
Anyways, that was an outstanding win for Fabio and a mental hiccup for Gael. I think too many people are forgetting how little Gael has played on clay and in general lately. that has to take a toll on his confidence. I hope both guys can take something positive from the overly dramatic encounter.
