Well as an extremely frustrated Nando fan I'm all for people slamming E-Gul for this performance. It was shameful, an absolute disgrace. He deserves it. But that doesn't mean we hate him. It's tough love.

I just don't appreciate people saying that he should be out of the top 100 and play challengers and stuff. Obviously he is better than that, look at his ranking!

Some people believe in tough love but that's certainly isn't me. You know why? Because if people see it or not, Ernests is hard on himself. He may seem like he doesn't care but he DOES. He wouldn't be playing so long if he didn't. He battles himself emotionally & feels embarrassed when he plays so poorly. That was the worst performance we have ever seen from Ernests, specially against a top ranked player! I will admit that. I have no problem in saying when he plays poorly but I don't see the point in ripping him apart which some "fans" do. Of course we all get frustrated or sad when he or another player we love looses matches in that way, since we all know he/they are better then that! You think he "Deserves" a good slamming when he looses but you'd think it would be the opposite. You'd think we'd want to be an even bigger support. He's fallen down out there, OK let's get together and push him back up.We all know what these guys are capable of but what is the point in being negative and slamming a player we love? It doesn't make him play better! It doesn't make us feel any better! The loss happened. It was horrible, but it's tennis. There is always another match in a week or two.

Well I for one didn't slam him. But it is kind of a problem...he did the same thing VS Simon in Brisbane semi (borderline tanking that is).

But whatever, maybe it's just him. Time to move on...

I agree 100% with what Courtney said. YES it was a poor performance by E, so what? Stick by him! I am and always will. For me personally instead of being pissed and getting mad at him, I'm more so sad for him. All of us want to see him do well. And to see him take a beating like that sucked. But tennis is a tough sport you just got to stay patient, and have faith. It's his coaches job to get frustrated and angry at him, not us.(but you can if you want to) AND HE DOES CARE. I re-watched the match this morning and in terms of how the match actually went tennis-wise; lets face it Nole made Ernests overplay, bigtime. He was rushing his shots and shanking all over the place, he needed slow down a bit, and think about his shots and construct the point. Not go for dinky/wild shots. (DROPSHOT! lol.) He wasn't, in anyway, himself out there. Did you guys see the scores of Nole's match against Viktor? Exacty the same, 6-0,6-1. So after that I'm honestly not that worried about E. Plus thank God for Darren Cahill, he's giving all of our good wishes to E! That should make us happy, that E knows we love him no matter what! <3
