Oh, that sucks.. At least he kept it competitive in three sets! I believe the more matches he has like this, the better he is prepared to face tough opponents later. The experience is very important. Sure, it sucks to lose, but the experience is good.
It's not all bad, because I have some good news today. Javi reached his career high on monday (August 16th). So congrats to Javi who is now ranked #403. Onwards and upwards. Vamos Javi!

Re: Javier Martí
Any news? Is he entering a new tournament soon? Futures or challengers? Or is he taking a break? Does anyone know?

Re: Javier Martí
He's not on any entry list for the next week - Futures or Challenger - so he's probably taking a break. As for the week starting September the 6th, he's on entry lists for five Challengers (all of them are played on clay): Genova (€85,000+H), Seville (€ 42,500+H), Alphen (€42,500), Brasov (€30,000+H), and Rijeka (€30,000+H).

Oh, sucks that he lost. Still, a good experience. The more he plays, the better. and the more he plays higher ranked opponents, the better. But it's a fine line. We don't want him overplaying either

Good desicion. Overplaying is never good. He's done well lately too. He deserves a break. I hope he wins when he comes back from his break though

Re: Javier Martí
Any news about Javi? What's he been up to lately? Has he played any matches? Did he win?
And the most important question of all: is he entering any new tournaments the upcoming week? Either challengers or futures?

Re: Javier Martí
He has withdrawn from every tournament, except Seville. According to the EL he should be first seed in qualies, but it would be great if he receives WC or sneaks into the MD. Fingers crossed for that!

Thanks for the update! It would be great if he could recieve a WC here.
I hope he does well in Sevilla, and I will definitely keep a track of how he's doing

Thanks for the update! So no Sevilla challenge for him? Only those futures?
BTW.. I just found an article w/video from Marca. It's not exactly new (12/05/2010), but I hadn't seen it before, and I don't know if you have either.. I thought I could post it here anyway, it's a good interview, and I like to hear him talk even though I only understand some of what he says.
http://www.marca.com/2010/05/12/teni...273653853.html
Would be nice if perhaps someone could translate the main points from the interview, only if you feel like it of course
