I just checked the results, and Javi won! The other guy retired, but that was after getting a beatdown 6-1 in the first set. Vamos Javi! On to another final

Javier MARTI (ESP) (5) defeated Jason KUBLER (AUS) 6-1 Retired

Well done Javi !! Closer to the top-300

sokk, I think he'll take a rest next week, because I don't see him in any entry list. The week of October 18 he'll play another 15K on clay in Croatia.

Thanks for the update! I figured he was going to take a week off. He's been playing a alot of tennis lately, so he's gotta be tired. But he's had some very good results lately so he obviusly deserves a week to rest.

Hmm, the future in Croatia seems REALLY tough.. I'm not so sure about Javi's chances there, but good luck to him anyway, Hopefully he'll be able to do better than expected. Vamos Javi!

Congrats to Javi for winning another title, his third title of the year

I found an article today which says Javi will play two 15K Futures in Croatia, and then he'll play Valencia Open! Last year he received WC for quallies, I hope the organisers will be more generous this time and that they'll give him WC to main draw. Here's the link to the article: http://www.marca.com/2010/10/12/tenis/1286835906.html

Wow, it's great that he got a WC to the Valencia Open! I'm not sure how well he'll do though.. He hasn't even won a single match in a Challenger.. Easy to win matches in Futures where the level is really low, but it's difficult to win matches when the level is that much higher.

That being said, I'm glad he still got a WC. It just comes to show that people believe in him, that he will have a future in tennis and that he will be one of the best in a few years

I'm not sure if the WC is for qualifying or the MD, but I'd guess qualifying based on his ranking. I think it's too low to get into the MD right away, I might be wrong though..

Javi is now in Croatia, playing 15K Futures in Dubrovnik. He's 7th seed in singles draw, and will play tomorrow vs. Kristijan Mesaros.

In doubles Javi and Burri are 4th seeds and they defeated Nekic/Pehar in R1 7-5 6-1.

This tournament has very strong field, it will be interesting to follow Javi's results here. Good luck Javi!

Good job Javi

He's playing against third seed Andrea Arnaboldi, not Alessandro Giannessi (Arnaboldi defeated Giannessi in R2), and they started the match today, but they'll finish it tomorrow. The current result is 1-6 3-1.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for Javi - if he wins in QF then he'll play his SF match against Marcel Zimmermann NB 13:00. He's also scheduled to play doubles QF together with Burri, and if they win then they'll play doubles semi Good luck to Javi in all these matches
