Default GGL in Shanghai 2010

GGL was on the ALT List for this Tournament, but due to all the players that have pulled out he made it into the Main Draw! Vamos GGL

That's fantastic. Really big opportunity for him there. I hope he gets an "agreeable" draw.

Glad he doesn't have to go through the qualifying grind here.

Ooh, if he makes it to R2, he plays Roddick. That could be interesting.

I feel I have to mention here that Roddick has to make it out of his 1st Rd Match. Nothing with Roddick seems certain anymore

I was there that day. People at the match all cheering for Argentina. They had 2 flags there,Good thing was, my friend had a spainish flag in her bag. so we waved our Spainish flag for GGL. Good he made it!I saw him today and asked him did he see the flag last day? He said Yes and thanks. I catch him every day. He is so sweet

Will upload some pix later. Next round GGL will face Andy Roddick. No doubt, girls will all cheer for this american boy, but absolutely, I will on GGL's side

And so it is. GGL wins over Roddick 36 32. Wonder what happened to Roddick that he retired. Onwards and upwards for GGL. So pleased.

Well I can't really consider a "retirement" a true victory for GGL, but I'll take it And I have no idea why Roddick retired--he is either sick/injuried or just playing like crap anymore

EDIT: Next up for GGL is T. Berdych. Berdych had been playing well until just here recently so I hope his winning ways don't return in time to catch GGL

Shite happens Mae. And fortunately, it didn't happen to GGL and bless him, may he get a true win against Berdych.

GGL beats Berdych in straight sets. Nole up next.

Great result for GGL, QFs in a Masters event. I bet his ranking goes up again...

EDIT: Checking out this thread. He's currently projected to go up to 31 as of his R2 win, but with his R3 win (and QF appearance), I'm projecting a climb to 28.
