Keynesianism is the key. Neoclassical vision is wrong because it stipulates that the market is efficient but it is not at all.
I advocate a good old Keynesian multiplier effect combined with a "soupçon" of Schumpeter ideas.

who's up for a bet?

i'll bet that...

a) ...hollande will (be forced to) nationalize the french banking sector in a way similar to what iceland came up with in 2008.

b) ...hollande will get toppled by the markets within two years, he will be replaced be a monti-like non-elected administrator.

anyone?

right now we have a massive campaign in ireland for the YES vote in the upcoming fiscal union treaty, mostly on the basis that it will send a good message to investors that the irish are good boys and girls and won't upset the payment of debt which will in turn promise the growth enabling ireland to make good on that debt... a debt which in fact is not their own, when you consider that when a bank lends money it is actually providing a commercial service that is ITS own responsibility...

there is in fact, an easier way... article 50... sending the existing EU system into collapse, hopefully to be rebuilt in favour of fairer economic models...
Anyway if the Irish say No, they will have to vote again, until they obey (just like Nice & Lisbon).

An easier way but what would be more harmful for the population? Isn't it better to anticipate? I mean, how many people in the EU know about article 50. It could at least be discussed on TV.

Lol at the Harvard students. Where I'm living, nobody's paying any attention to MSM anymore (whether written press editorials or TV). Waste of time. We all inform on the Internet. Their sales figures are dropping massively.

Interesting YT clip, by the way.

A means Euro exit, no? Unlikely.

B is partly what Sapir predicts. Hollande won't hold on for more than 2 years. However the French constitution clearly states that if a President resigns he's replaced by the President of the Senate (who is not a GS man) until the next elections. So?

I'm so in, as long as a) means only France does it, or only France of the big countries.

What are we betting for?

Don't know if elections make much difference these days. Hollande will be just as big a populist as Sarkozy, maybe without the reckless immigration clamp down.

Exactly, people / parties don't matter really. Policies do.
