Referendum's are idiotic... That's what the parliament (or whatever it's called in different countries) is for. I'm very happy we didn't have a referendum about joining the Euro, so far it's been very good, even lowering prices (naturally the oldies want the Finnish Mark back and don't believe any studies about price levels).
