Re: Madrid 2010
Good luck to Gael in Madrid, he has a pretty decent first two rounds, hope he takes advantage of them. Most importantly, I hope he feels fit and pain free and ready to play at his full capacity.

Re: Madrid 2010
I don't know at all what to expect, he seems to say he's playing OK in training, but the journalist of L'Equipe who saw him practice last week in Estoril sounded a bit alarming (same today again in their presentation of the Madrid draw).
He plays tomorrow, 2nd match of the day. He's also entered the doubles with Jérémy, so he must be fit this time.

Re: Madrid 2010
Stephane is the type of player who will make him hit a lot of shots. It's a good test, but a very winnable match if he isn't too off from being away so long. Petzschner is the real worry in R2, attacking player who will put the pressure on Gael and he may not be ready for that.
What's most important is he seems fit again, and that's right in time for the French.

Re: Madrid 2010
No, I had no problem last year. My camera is old and pretty big, and they didn't say anything.
They control the bags very carefully and were very strict about the food and the drink. But strangely enough, only the small bottles and cans were forbidden, I was allowed to keep my big water bottle, I didn't get the point.
Have fun!

Re: Madrid 2010
Welcoming himself back on the tennis scene with a good performance, is Gael! Hopefully he continues to play solidly and goes deep in the draw.

Re: Madrid 2010
Thanks Fran, finally i did not bring it and i should not have read the website, i could have bring the reflex camera, pity weather was nice yesterday. Anyway, i took lot of pictures with the small one.
I saw the double match, the performance of the French was just it was definitely kind of training for them. Gael got broken always, he just handle his service once in all the match. Almagro was more motivated than them. In the stand, Roger Rasheed was there and also a blonde girl, i think the new girlfriend of Chardy.
Almost at the end of the match, i don really know what happen because i was not looking there but it looks Gael twisted his ankle. If i remember it was right one. The judge asked him if he needs the physio but it refuses and he finished the match. As he is always injured i thought it was again a new one
I will try today to go to the match....
I also watched the training of Tsonga, it looks he has a problem on his right shoulder. One moment his coach said to him "dont do an Almagro" (ne fais pas une almagro), is someone konw what does it mean??

Re: Madrid 2010
That match was exhausting to watch, but I am glad he got through in straight sets.
My favorite part is when Monfils hit this jumping knees to his chest smash, the camera cuts to Roger and he's shaking his head furiously, the guy sitting next to Roger throws up the focus signs, Monfils tries really hard to suppress a wry smile.
