Re: Casablanca SF : Stanislas Wawrinka defeats Potito Starace 6-4 3-6 6-4
The backhand to set up MP was delicious. I started watching from the third set onwards and Starace put up a good fight in his own service games at first with ridiculous volley pick ups and controlled points with his forehand. But Stan was in all those games whilst holding serve so comfortably with three love service games in a row, so it was only a matter of time for the break to come his way. Lovely aggression throughout and no panic when he was down in the game where he served for the match. Props to Starace for a solid run this week and for pushing Wawrinka to produce his best.
Best of luck tomorrow, Stan.

Re: Casablanca SF : Stanislas Wawrinka defeats Potito Starace 6-4 3-6 6-4
Bad chance blown by Starace in the 1st set from 4-2 up (and that breakpoint wasted by Starace in the very first game with an easy return thrown out). Wawrinka stopped making errors in the 3rd and Wawrinka killed his only chance with an unreal backhand on the last mm of the line in the penultime point of the match... I'm happy that Potito is back with good form, as he had been quite bad the whole season...
Pity Potito won't compete in MonteCarlo.

Come on Stan, get your first title where your opponent doesn't retire.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.
The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

Great week, Potito
You're the second best here in Casablanca, the other semifinalists are not quite as good, imo.

That's one of the reasons why we love him.
