Pozzovivo will probably have his eye on the mountain jersey too now. You also have some others like Serpa or Caruso who are already a mile behind in the GC. If one of these guys gets in the breakaway in the first big mountain stage and take an early lead they will go for the jersey and others will probably not target it so hard anymore. Moncoutie can easily win it of course, but you have to consider the above, plus the fact Moncoutie is basically all or nothing with his performances.

I agree with that.

Cunego as well. Maybe Simoni in last Giro. Possibilities are endless.

Also, Possoni is out of it now and Wiggins we all know wasn't going to go for the win here. Possoni said before the Giro he wants to finish as high up in the classification as he can. That's why I thought he was a good bet at 101. I've also recently read it's still a priority for him.

Back on Moncoutie - he's $5 around places. Cofidis and him have come out publically and said he wants this mountains jersey. Mind you, logic would say he should try for it in the Tour but he wants to ride Spain again so chances are he's going to give the Tour a miss. Even more incentive for him to do something here.

Okay. I'm obviously being murdered on this stage betting when my overalls are looking good except Greipel for the points. Looking at the stages on Friday and Saturday I would assume a break might go away and stay clear. So I will just wait for in-play betting on them and if something comes up, I'll do it.

Liquigas actually wouldn't mind a break going clear today anyway. They won't want the jersey for long. Hence why it's up to the sprinters teams to control the race today and my reasoning on breaks going clear Friday and perhaps Saturday.

So going to give it one last crack on a sprinter friendly stage.

2 units Greipel @ $4 - He's still a little bit sick but getting better by the reports from my man inside the Columbia-HTC camp and is in a better place today than the other days to win.

3 units Duque over Haedo @ $1.65
3 units Henderson over Modolo @ $1.55
5 units Farrar over Petacchi @ $1.75
3 units Greipel over Petacchi @ $1.80

33 Alessandro Bisolti (Ita) Colnago-CSF Inox 0:11:22
34 Francesco Masciarelli (Ita) Acqua & Sapone 0:11:34

The guys in bold are the guys that will contest it.

Rabobank have high hopes on Mollema. Yes, Masciarelli is a good choice for Acqua & Sapone but he will now be supporting Garzelli. Plus Mollema has sold me winning Circuito Montanes a few years back. This is a good race to get noticed in because of the difficult climbing. Previous winners of that race include Gesink and Van Garderen.

The other guys won't keep up with these guys in the mountains and Porte will struggle in the third week.

Nah, I don't hate Petacchi. It's the bets I have won on the sprinter stages have been backing against Petacchi. So I'm going to continue to do that.

For the white jersey i have Masciarelli @3.75 and De Greef @81

They were great last year at the Giro, finishing 16th and 20. Masciarelli had Garzelli last year too. I think he will be kinda free and other guys will be working for Garzelli, Miholjevic or the other Masciarelli for example. And we all think Garzelli will be in the running for KOM which means he will have to attack a lot and get in escapes if possible. He won't need help for that.
