this earthquake was very strong... it seemed would never end (in the moment)
fortunately nothing serious happened in my house, I live in santiago
but in areas closest to the epicenter is all very bad, a totally unexpected tragedy,
are officially 78 deaths, surely this should increase dramatically, I hope not
it's not a surprise. we were expecting an almost 9.0 or higher earthquake in this area. 50 years is enough to accumulate enough stress in the upper crust especially with the fast eastward moving nazca plate.
Yes, I recall you posting a couple of months ago that a strong earthquake in Chile was bound to happen soon.

A 8.8 earthquake is not something to cause 17 deaths. It's something to cause 17 thousand deaths.
My heart goes to Chile for this disaster.
Not always... Chile has good infrastructure so I dont expect deaths to go that high. Hopefully they wont.
Really sucks, and there was a Earthquake in Korea/CHina as well yesterday, guess the plates are moving alot...
