Re: Spring '10: Davis Cup vs Germany - Allez Les Blues
I saw the ankle twist on live stream. he was changing directions at the last minute to get to a backhand but instead slipped and fell on his side. It did not "look" like a bad fall -nothing like Sabine Lisicki- but he did stay down a bit. Forget was so worried and ran right away along with the pretty lady umpire (director??) whose name I can't recall now.
I don't know why Jo was playing the dead rubber but I am assuming Monfils and Llodra are a bit fragile and they did not want to risk any injuries before IW. That's why Bennet and Jo had to play. But this is my assumption. Jo is not so hot when it comes to injuries/health himself. (eg: back, knee, stomach and now the good old ankle)
He did hang around barefoot after the trainer had a look at it. He left the court walking, he had a barely noticeable limp. Monfils carried his bag. some serious luxury hired help
Anyways, I cross my fingers this was just a precaution. I did not see any of the first set but he sucked in the second set. I mean, it was a dead rubber and I understand if he did not give 100% but this game he put on in the second set better be his 10% because it was not working at all.
I hope he gets better soon.

No, I watched a couple of games when I realized from live score that he's playing, but couldn't watch the entire match. Twisted ankle?

Re: Spring '10: Indian Wells!
Hard luck meeting Llodra (most likely) in his first match. Don't know the state of his ankle injury, hope he's fit and raring to go.
By the way, congratulations to the French Davis Cup team for making it to the QF. I would dearly love for them to go all the way this year, they have got quality singles and doubles players. All the best of luck to them. (But no more dead rubbers for Jo please!)

Tsonga/Benneteau vs Soderling/Lindstedt first round in doubles.
How's that ankle holding up, Jo?

Re: Spring '10: Indian Wells!
Matosevic played so no good. Jo's play is still a question.

Re: Spring '10: Indian Wells!
Solid start for Jo. Seems to adapt reasonably well to the conditions at Indian Wells. Draw not looking so bad after all. All the best of luck!
