Actually, Thrawn Trilogy or Yuuzhan Vong War movies would be epic. Expensive too but worth every penny.

All star wars movies are pretty much for kids under 15, just like harry potter and lotr. If you enjoy them as an adult, I feel sorry for you.

The plan is to make 7,8 and 9 though so they will explore plotlines after ROTJ. Yuuzhong Vong is good but I feel like its too much. That story tries to outdo everything in the classic trilogy.

It did some damage, sure, but it hasn't turned it into a punchline like the Star Wars prequels did.

Well, many people saw them as kids. They surely wouldn't be as beloved otherwise. Still, for the better part of a decade adults have been salivating all over generic superhero movies

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there is only 1 Star Wars trilogy. That and there are 3 2-hour toy commercials with alot of special effects, racism and horrible acting (as you would expect from toy commercials).

That about sums up how I feel about those movies.
George Lucas' attitude towards fans has been downright despicable. His refusal to release the unaltered versions of the OT is stupid as hell.

He does seem to want to redeem himself and I think by selling Lucasarts to Disney and donating most of that money (we're talking 4 billion here) to charity he's doing just that. Imo Disney has made some excellent movies over the last decade, and Lucas really didn't so it can only get better. That being said, I'd rather they just leave the series alone.
