Haas will be playing American hard court tournaments after Santiago, as he is used to doing this years.

As chilean tournament is usually the weakest entry list tournament of the Latin American tour, probably because is too next the end of the Australian Open, I consider that Jaime Fillol, director of the tournament, always tries to catch an interesting players that then choose european or american atps instead of the clay ones, in order to make the entry list more attractive to public. For example:

Fernando Gonzalez always
2008: Fernando Verdasco
In 2008 Andy Murray was near to play here, as he had to play against Argentina for Davis Cup, but he didn't come.
