district 10 is great movie just like german (should of won).

precious is the best of all but i'm not complaining,anti-movie "avatar" gone with the wind.great comment by steve martin at the end.
the worst thing is bullock's oskar.it's a disgrace.she managed to be the worst actress 'n the best at the same year, first time ever.

bilbo's comments are so ridiculous, just like him 'n his mj.i'm ashamed in his name.

at the end as collective said-movie won 'n that is good.

1- people who have overlooked this film will see it.

2- the die-hard avatards eating a pretty thick slice of humble pie.

How could this non-movie be nominated for anything? Putting guys in heavy uniforms and have them stand around for two hours with rifles at their shoulders and looking tense has been done over and over in Vietnam.

Eventually, I fast tracked looking for the story line to commence, but just got more bomb defusing situations with guys with rifles on their shoulders trying to look tense.

No wonder one of the producers sent out begging emails. I can only assume this is another political nomination, totally unrelated to quality. Or maybe, like most teenagers, Academy voters just like to see things blowing up.

It's a politically correct movie That alone is enough to win it an Oscar no matter the SSG James was as realistic as Neytiri.

Congrats to Waltz

What in this movie made you give it that 9? Could you give your reasons?

What blockbusters did I like?

I have not even bothered to see Avatar, hated Hurt Locker, thought Basterds was boring. I think those are the three blockbusters nominated.
My pick, like your's, was Precious. Did you even read my posts before writing the exact opposite of my opinion? Doesn't look like it.

Your posts are like bilbo's in that you just make them up and don't seem to realise that apart from satisfying your own opinion, some people may actually read them and see them for the nonsense they are.

My Oscar fantasy was that every time a winner said ''amazing'' the Oscar would explode like an IED. Under that scenario only Jeff Bridges got to take the statuette home, but he did say ''wonderful'' seven times. That may be the next Hollywood catchphrase.

Amazing is so overused these days I hesitate to use it, in case the person being described thinks it an insult to be labelled so run-of-the-mill.

Apologies are rare displays of bravery on MTF. Especially since I was deliberately rude in my post. Cheers!

Usually, when I know I should apologise, I just let it slide.

And sorry, but I just don't care for any Tarantino movie I have ever seen. I didn't watch Basterds to the end, I got bored and sleepy when they were all in some beerhouse somewhere.
