Come on, Igor. You almost did it once before, I know you can get it done this time.

I have to believe he can get the upset, otherwise I'll just be extremely depressed.

Try as hard as you can, Igor. I believe in you, you almost beat Roger at the US, and he isn't as good now as he was then. If Igor is ever going to beat Roger at a grand slam, this is probably his best shot he will ever get, so I hope he can at the very least give himself a chance.

The one positive for me is that I can see him on TV for sure!!!

I'm bad luck

The way I look at it is, if he wins, it will be one of the biggest upsets in a very long time. So I am excited for this opportunity for Igor. I think he will bring his best to the court against Roger.

Yes, Francis is right. This could be more of a positive than a negative.

And let's face it guys, Igor has been so miserable lately that he would have likely lost first round anyway. Maybe this way he'll play better because there's absolutely no pressure on him to do well and nobody really expects him to beat Federer. This could be a blessing in disguise!

True. He probably won't win but without the pressure he may just play better and be able to take it into his next tournaments and start the rest of the year better.

That first set was

. The rest was... a little frustrating.

He should have got that 3rd set, but on the whole I was happy with how he played.

Hopefully he can keep this level up and not revert back to being terrible.

Yeah I mean he played pretty well almost till the end but GOD is this man FRUSTRATING or what!!!!!!!!

If ONLY he had taken that 3rd set. But well yeah.... I should be used to frustrating with Safin.

And I still love Igor dearly.

At least it was an entertaining match and people liked it.

The match was almost too predictable to bear. Igor played well in major patches scattered through the match and played better than Federer through many parts of the match. The difference is Federer has confidence, and security in himself in the tough moments.

I honestly don't know where Igor goes from here. I hope he can take the positives from the match and grow from it, and not be deflated for letting some opportunities slip away. It is all about confidence for Igor, if he can find some, he can be as dangerous as anyone. Playing on clay now for the next few tournaments in South America will surely help him.

I agree with you James.I think he played really well!I honestly thought the whole match was going to be like the forth set with the way he has been playing lately

Yes he can be very frustrating!!!Especially when there is a slight chance he's going to win and then BAM he losses

And it was definitely a good match.I haven't seen him play in a long time so I forgot how big his forehand is

.He should definitely be ranked higher then he is with that amazing weapon.
