Default Re: 2010 Australian season no more. Get Well, Gilles.

The article in L'Equipe, I was hoping they would interview Tulasne, but there's nothing really new:
Quote:
Simon, option sagesse

VINCENT COGNET
It's the same as the other articles. It does stress that the docs and physios of the FFT didn't like the fact he wanted to play there and it was a relief for them when he decided to pull out.
The journalist writes that the pain was "bearable", so he might still be a little bit in pain too.
He's calm and serene. Not shattered because he knew from the beginning that his chances to be able to play were not high. But no "self-flagellation" either, he admits he "lost 2 weeks" for his recovery when he decided to come down under, but he wanted to give it a try.
He honestly admits that the doc was right and those 3 weeks he tried to bypass would have been necessary. He sounds very determined to listen to the doc, he says he will do the required exercises to strengthen his quadriceps and his hamstring, etc.
He swears he will only be back when the MRI results are good this time. "No race against the clock anymore".
He took a flight back to France on Saturday evening.

I'm relieved by his decision and satisfied he hasn't taken any risks with his health.

Hope you're soon fully fit Gillou

It's definitely both good and bad. I'm glad he's doing the right thing and getting well, but at the same time it makes the Australian Open much less interesting for me.

Lena got a rotten deal. I'll send all my vibes to her but it probably won't help much.
I didn't take a look at the women draw, only find out how awful it was yesterday, Maria Vs Maria, Chakky vs Flavia, Peng vs Li and then Lena got Justin in R2 , wholly suck.

Lena peaked too early once again, easily booting Safina, Azarenka & Serena last week although none of them did try really hard; Azarenka didn't even bother shrieking half of the match.. It will be another story against Henin. Hopefully, Justine will still lack endurance if Lena can keep her running.

If that Sydney final is of any indication, then I'm not that hopeful, who could tell these 2 were retired just 6 months ago, unreal. I like to know what they eat in Belgium, and have some.

The Clijsters-Henin Brisbane final was awesome. I actually watched the whole thing and I rarely watch an entire match, even Gilles or Stan.

I miss Gillou a lot now. I'd even be willing to not sleep through the middle sets of a five-setter just to see him.

Oh, right, I do mean Brisbane, or whatever that city was. It happened too long ago . Between then and now, I've watched a lot of tennis already.

Season just began 15 days ago but I was so hungry to watch tennis after off-season that I pretty much watched everything since, plus that 12 hrs that I log in yesterday, sometimes watching 3 matches at a time . It's getting a bit hard to remember who played when and where . But joking aside, that Kimmy/Henin match was awesome.

I'm watching Ball too (along with Gael's match), he looks like Cahill . He played very well so far, I hope he keeps it up.
