And it is way too late to "correct" the entry list now, after Berrer and Zverev were entered on the official entry list yesterday. Llodra and the organizers should have noticed it before if it was just a mistake.

Tennisteen.it has Tsonga out of the entry list now, but Petzsche not in.
Something similar happened to Dallas Challenger entry list, the name missing was Mark Philippoussis, who has a protected ranking, so we can understand they made a mistake because it was not a "regular/common entry".

yes but Llodra would have been a regular entry if he had applied

Nothing has changed on the official website yet.

I did not indicate that I am happy he is injured. I said I am happy he is not here.

I agree with the other poster, being happy because someone retires is not very nice.
I mean if you don´t like him it´s ok but would be only 1 match per day maximum with him anyway, so why being so happy about it

Jo I'm so disappointed with this. Saw him last year playing and would've liked to see him again.

This situation is already in the rulebook:

When a player who would have been seeded withdraws (before the deadline), the tournament can get permission to replace that player with another player as long as the replacement player wasn't previously entered in another ATP tournament. The top alternate who doesn't get into to this tournament (or any other ATP tournament or challenger) receives first round prize money in exchange for not getting into the main draw. (This rule is only applied on average once a year or less.)

Never heard about that, it's already happened in other tournament ? So Petzchner received the first round prize money

Thanks a lot, Smucav, I remember the Gasquet story in Tokyo, but back then it was a real "emergency situation" and they picked seeded players to replace the missing seeded players, it made more sense.
I find a bit borderline to use this rule here (no emergency) to replace a guy on the alternate list with another guy who wouldn't have made the main list anyway if he had bothered to enter it in time.

The emergency is a player who would have been seeded withdrawing in the last five days before the deadline. Only player who were ranked high enough to make the original cut-off are considered acceptable substitutes. In most cases there aren't any acceptable substitutes available to play at the last minute because of eligible players already being entered in another tournament or on vacation.

Thanks for all the information, Smucav, I didn't know about this rule

As for Llodra, he was not ranked high enough to be in the original entry-list : if he had applied on time, he would have been second alternate (just behind Serra) but not on the original entry-list.

Anyway, it's a kind of wild card for him, and it means that the organizers preferred him than Sluiter

It isn't a wild card: if there isn't anyone acceptable to replace Tsonga, the next player on the alternate list gets in (not Sluiter).
