I think Berdych will be tougher than Bellucci on this surface, but I read Berdych is trying out a new racket, so maybe he will be a little off his game. Fish was a tough first rounder. Well, I thought Marcos was ready for this kind of challenge when I've seen him play lately, so bring it on.
I thought Fish looked pretty good today and gave a great performance, so that was an excellent win.
I would love to see Baggy vs. Roddick in the semis!
Marcos is now ranked #42, so he can't be far away from getting a seed, maybe in Sydney if he keeps playing like this.
Sydney doesn't count towards the seeding, so if we want him to be seeded, he'll have to reach at least the final to be seeded

what was that? is he injured or did he just have a terribly bad day?
I didn't see the match because I was at work. But I know some people who watched, and they just said that Berdych had one of those days where everything goes well and he was playing superbly. Marcos' serve wasn't working so well evidently, but no trace of an injury as far as I've been told. Must admit when i first saw the score I feared the same though

I disagree.. i saw the match. Marcos didnt have a single winner in the first set.. He was dreadful.. Worst ive ever seen him play.. barely got a first serve in.
Berdych played well but Marcos gave him that match on a platter.

Fair enough Like I said - I didn't see the match at all - was just repeating what some friends who watched had told me

Congrats to Baggy in his first round victory over Lindahl in round 1 at Sydney. I've been too ill (flu..still have fever and am dizzy...), so I haven't seen any matches since last week, but I understant Marcos let Lindahl back into the second set from reading in GM. He needs to attack Troiki early and just put him away. Troiki can be easily demoralized if he gets down early, so Marcos needs to be agressive.
I'm still in shock over the Berdych match last week in Brisbane, but I'm going to just categorize it under one of those awful days where nothing is working right and Berdych played lights out. Berdych did the same thing in the first set against Roddick, but then went on to lose that match. I'm glad Baggy has these two tourneys to play himself back into match shape. His results so far have been far from predictable and it is pretty obvious his form is coming and going during any single match.
