that's four words hardly anybody uses in a regular conversation unless you live in a british country club.
again, i have no problem with the way you post, but i'm afraid i wouldn't be able to stop laughing if you talked like that in real life.

Um, no. Those words are all unremarkable.

Re: In The Spotlight: buddyholly
see, these kind of responses are exactly why i think you're just playing a role here. it seems like you have some sort of playbook next to you.
i have no idea why you'd do it, but the internet is full of loons anyways, who knows what you're trying here. you're a mystery.

Cauldron and verbiage are common. The former could probably be found in an essay written by a 13-year-old. I'm Italian, so parlance comes naturally for me (parlare is the verb form of speak in Italian, commonly used).
As for your last remark, it is doubtful that our paths would ever cross in "real" life. I don't pretend to be superior to anyone, but you do not quite fit the bill in terms of what I would consider a suitable acquaintance.

i'd say 17-yo, alright, but i see you've figured out my main point: in a written essay, exactly! that's where you need to prove your knowledge, where you get grades and stuff. do you feel like you need to prove yourself here, like you desperately need to set yourself apart? if so, how's your self esteem doing?

It's not humour mate, it's a spontaneous expression.
You would have probably filled two whole paragraphs of stuck-up mumbo-jumbo to express the same thing but hey, it takes all sorts.

Tennis has no blood passport system, and does basically no out of competition testing.
The methods and drugs used by Armstrong in 1999 would work in tennis right now, with zero chance of being caught (not slightly surprising to anyone familiar with the topic, btw).

The vast majority of my friends are educated. We use words like these in casual conversations. "Cauldron" might be exceptional because it is seldom used to refer to an actual cauldron, but "parlance" and "verbiage" are fairly basic words.
You need to understand the difference between verbosity (i.e. using too many words) and word selection. PD arguably has a 'problem' with the former on MTF, but his word selection is usually fairly precise.

so am i. i don't understand pd's notion that anybody who doesn't succumb to his uppity style is an idiot anyways. normally people who rely on overblown diction simply conceal something.
you other points re pd have been talked about endlessly on non-mtf.

You've missed the point. Cauldron is a 10-cent word that could be used by a middle-schooler.

The illusion exists only within the confines of your imagination. Further, mine is not an aversion to MTFers. I wouldn't mind meeting someone like, say, buddyholly. He seems well-learned, and I doubt that he would do anything to irreparably damage me. Not sure if you're aware of this, but one who chooses to live in a building on the east coast is subject to the whims of a co-op board.
I would probably return to find my belongings on the sidewalk were I to ever bring a German socialist anywhere near my home. Actually, I think bringing a German anything (including a German shepherd) would be sufficient to draw the ire of my neighbors.

I was trying to underscore your apparent inability to recognize the difference between verbosity and word selection; I'm not sure that's been talked about endlessly before. It doesn't matter. We're done here.
