Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
Hahaha, that is so ridiculous. Yeah, that site is pretty bad, but I think they mixed up the names and put Tommy instead of Verdasco

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
Before delpo's forfait, Jo was supposed to play his semi against him on friday. So I suppose that they just replaced delpo by Haas for the semi tomorrow. Don't take what l'équipe site say too seriously.

Yeah but Haas lost both his matches, surely even if he wins against Jo he won't go to the final? That would be absurd. I know this is an exho but there is probably a lot of money at stake with all the top players that were supposed to play there and still are.

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
I found the details in the exho forum :
Friday - 11 am start
Fernando Gonzalez vs Ivan Ljubicic (5th/6th place match)
fb
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga vs Tommy Haas (bonus match)
fb
Sergiy Stakhovsky vs Sam Querrey (bonus match)
And :
Del Potro plays it safe and withdraws from AAMI Classic
US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro has withdrawn from tomorrow's AAMI Classic semi-final, the second injury casualty.
Del Potro cited an elbow injury as the reason for not wanting to play Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Promoter Colin Stubs is trying to arrange a replacement opponent for Tsonga, who will now go through to Saturday's final against Spaniard Fernando Verdasco.

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
Haas, Soderling and Djokovic
Sorry, but I like that draw very much. I don't see Tipsarevic past Haas, so no problem for me. Dent can be tricky, but all in all, that's two first rouds that seems to be doable for Jo.

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
Stakhovsky can be a tricky first-round opponent, produces some sublime volleys. No room for complacency.
Dent potential second round - Jo has to be careful against those huge servers, he's been bitten in the past
Tipsarevic third round - Jo can overpower and outsmart him. Haas? Hope today's result is representative of his form
Soderling - more of the same, I hope
Djokovic - save for Jo's first AO final when he was inexperienced, Jo has got an impressive record against Djokovic. Hope these two battle it out in the quarters, with Jo the winner
Don't want to think further, for Federer lurks in the semis. Maybe Davydenko can do us a favour?
Honestly, barring any lingering discomfort from his recent injury, I think Jo's draw is very do-able. I have faith, I have tons of hope. Let's do it Jo!

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
I am satisfied with this draw. It could be a lot more difficult. But I do hope that he doesn't see Stakhovsky as an easy 1st round draw. The Ukranian will have nothing to lose or prove against Jo and he will give it all.

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
He's playing well in Kooyong but his break point conversion really worries me... Here against Verdasco he has had 6 breakpoints (I think?) so far in 3 different games and has not converted one. He had 3 in a row at 4-4 0-40 to serve for the set, all second serves from Verdasco, and he hit an ugly UE every time...

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
And of course he throws in a disgusting service game at 5-6 and loses the set on the second break point against him...

Re: Let's kick off 2010! :)
He's just picking up from where he left off. Missing opportunities, breaking down under pressure, running around backhands, over-hitting, talking to himself, etc.
I'll be happy if he gets past Tipsarevic.
PS: Happy new year, everyone!

eeww please do not tell me he's doing the unforced error show. aussi time zone is not working in my favor me to catch his matches.
