I decided Robin's shock loss to Berdych and injury was pretty much enough of an indication that the luck streak for me not posting in the Live Scoring was over.

But I am still recording his matches, so I wasn't able to attend today, but wanted to post a "Congrats" and remind everyone that Chela just won the U.S. Clay Court Championships over Sam Querrey last week (beating Lleyton Hewitt, Zeballos, Schwank along the way), so Robin just beat a guy coming off a Championship and on a 6 match winning streak on Clay (won his first round match in Barcelona 6-1, 6-4). So that was about as tough a 2nd Round match as you're going to get, especially as the 2nd Seed (and now top seed since Rafa left) in the Tournament. It is possible he won't be facing a player who has been tougher on Clay as of late until the SF or Final.

So great job today, Soderking, and keep it up! I was extremely nervous about this match today, and the lousy draw in general. You probably need to handle Lopez once again in the next round.

Lopez still has to beat Denis Istomin later today to get a crack at Robin. The two of them have 1 H2H meeting with Lopez winning at Queens last year 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(5). Obviously, Istomin gave him a battle, and although this is on clay, I don't think it is a given with the way Seeds are falling that Lopez will win. Obviously, I'd rather Robin play Istomin, so hope he pulls out the victory.

Istomin gave Lopez a fight and had a match point in the first set at 6-6 (7-6). He choked, but Lopez had a tough win 7-6, 7-5. Let's hope Istomin wore him out a little. Also, hope that knee is feeling better.
