I'm tipping Matt in a tightish 3 setter, 3-6 7-5 6-3.

Matt lost to Malisse 5-7 7-5 7-6, was basically dominating the match will a solid serve all match serving 12 aces and his first serve was in over 70% of the time. Was down 5-6 receiving to stay in the match in the third thankfully broke to get it back into a tie break but lost the breaker 7-1. Also was down 4-5 in the second as Malisse was serving for the set and broke back to 5-5 but then Ebden was broken straight back then Malisse held his nerve and his serve to take the set 7-5. First set Matt hit 75% of his first serves in and won 90% of those points which was 19/21, really disappointing that this great up and comer couldn't finish off this veteran in Malisse.

Matty is in a battle with Golubev in first round of qualies at Indian Wells, Golubev and Ebden both shared breaks in the first set but Golubev ended up taking it in a tie break 8-6. Ebden then led 4-1 up a double break in the second set but Golubev got one of those breaks back but thankfully Matty held his serve after that to take the set 6-4.

Golubev serving first in the third and its at 40-40. The winner of this match will face Canadian Frank Dancevic who beat Tobias Kamke 6-4 6-0.

Ebden is such an unreal choking clown. Losing the first set from break up and chance for a double break. Impossible what the guy is doing out there.
Now broken to 0 and 02* down in the third set.

Now some how up 5-2 serving for the match and down 15-40, now 30-40. Please just finish it off Matt.

Thankfully Ebden held on and won that service game and took it out 6-7(6) 6-4 6-2.

In final round of qualies at Indian Wells Matt won the first set against Dancevic 6-3, but is down a break at 1-4 in second. He will have to turn it around like he did yesterday.
And he starts to turn it around, breaking back to trail 3-4, serving 30-30...
But Dancevic hits back and break Matt, leads 5-3...
Matt has break points at 15-40... breaks, back on serve at 4-5...
Can he hold? Must hold or it's into a 3rd set...
Matt holds and is into the tie-break now, a mini-break up after 1st point, holds serve to lead 3-0, another break up now serving at 4-1, looks like Matt is not going to a 3rd set..
Dancevic breaks back, 4-2 now, only 1 break up. Damn - back on serve. Matt lost both service points...
Matt facing set point at 5-6 down, saves...

Matt wins tb 9-7, and qualifies.
Well done - hoping for a good draw. He at least earned the chance to defend those points.

All the other draws look like a first or second round certain loss.

Draws Andrey Kuznetsov with Dimitrov (31) waiting. Djokovic will almost certainly be his 3rd round opponent if he makes it that far, but 3rd round is possible as Dimitrov is very up and down.

And Matt makes it four out of four Aussies through to the second round at Indian Wells, squaring up young Andrey Kusnetsov from Russia 63 46 64. Three wins in a row for Matt wh looks to have worked himself back into form, match fitness and confidence.
Tougher match against Dimtrov awaits but Matt could spring a surprise.
