AUSTRALIAN tennis legend Tony Roche has agreed to work with WA's Matt Ebden.
Roche has coached Roger Federer, Pat Rafter, Ivan Lendl and Lleyton Hewitt and believes the world No. 79 can reach the top echelon of the men's game.
Roche will team with Australian Davis Cup coach and 16-time grand slam doubles champion Todd Woodbridge to shoulder Ebden's coaching and conditioning responsibilities leading up to Wimbledon and through to the US Open in August.
"Tony has worked with Matt during a number of Davis Cup ties over the last 12 to 18 months," said Ebden's manager, Sam Maxwell.
"From now until at least the end of the US Open, Matt will mainly be coached by Todd, but with Tony also providing assistance."
Matt Ebden twitter: A tough one today at Queens. Unfortunately I’ve been nursing some foot pain from the French at the end of last week. No excuses as Marin is a quality player, and just too tough if you’re not 100%.
Am getting treatment and will hopefully be right for next week.
