Well done Andy!
Who will choice ground? I think USA has nice chance on American Indoors court.

Re: 2011 Davis Cup Thread
USA home tie will choose surface. it'll be right after wimbledon, so outdoors or indoors is an option. I agree, nice fast low-bouncing indoor court could work but verdasco and lopez are good on faster surfaces too. it'll be very very tough no matter what

Thanks. Verdasco's worst court is indoor I think.

Re: 2011 Davis Cup Thread
Love the Chuck Norris move at the end.
From twitter:
USTA announced that Albany, NY, Austin, TX, and San Antonio, TX are the 3 finalists to host the QF vs Rafa & Spain July 8-10.
The USTA will name site for Davis Cup tie between USA and Spain no later than week of March 21. At least 8,000 seats!

Re: 2011 Davis Cup Thread
The USTA article calls Austin the "prohibitive favorite" - with either of the texas options, a sellout is an almost certainty, so i'm sure they will go with one of those. Andy has family in San Antonio too if i recall

Re: 2011 Davis Cup Thread
I am dreaming though; would love to go to Austin more than actually watch tennis. Not happening though

Re: 2011 Davis Cup Thread
I mean, i dont think it would be worse than the other summer destinations - Indy, atlanta, Cincy, etc, are all always miserable. I don't think austin's weather is markedly worse. i'm sure Andy would love for it to be outside. Mardy seems to like heat now that he's fitter, but who knows if he would be chosen (after Isner's performance this week i hope so, considering we are in the WG this year b/c of Mardy) in July. Who knows
