Herbal is right - there is no reciprocal agreement between Tennis Australia and LTA/Wimbledon to give a wild card to a Brit for the Aussie Open or to an Oz for Wimbledon. LLeyton may get one as an ex-champion at the whim of the Wimbledon officials, because there are not enough good British players to give wild cards to (if Lleyton requests one) and also because he is a draw-card - people will pay to watch him.
No wild card for Luke... going on previous years. Maybe a WC to qualies at best, which seems to be the norm these days.
Good to see that the Aussie boys are 5-0 combined in the junior tournament. The other three are a round behind Luke. Thompson won 10-8 in the third against the 12th seed, while Harris and Kyrgios won easily.
Luke is just a class above the rest of the juniors. Even though clay isn't his strongest surface he's going to go deep in this tournament, but there aren't many juniors who specialize in clay courts this season. I expect he'll defend Wimbledon and go for the US Open title. He shouldn't be play Orange Bowl, he should be doing adult tournaments at that point.
^Yep, the junior Grand Slams are enough junior play for Luke. Playing Wimbledon boys' again only really makes sense if he wins Roland Garros (so he could go for the calendar year junior Grand Slam), but as he needed to decide before RG I'm OK with him being on the entry list. But the US Open should be his last junior event no matter what IMO.
Went out in the quarters, I guess hoping for the calendar year Slam was too much. Now off to defend Wimbledon juniors. I suppose it's not a complete waste of time. He will get more grass court practice and if he wins he will gain a very high year end ranking with more junior exempts and possibly a(nother) Wimbledon men's qualifying draw wild card next year.
Realistically can Luke qualify? As much as ill probably regret to say this i think he can, clearly depending on a lucky draw but Saville grew up on a the grass so he could maybe, but i just hope he atleast wins through too the second round of qualies!
