Javier Frana was a VG player, he reach #30 ranking but he was born in 1966.
This thread doesn't consider him as there are no top 100 in 1973 so we cannot count players older than 1974.

The USA had a 17+ year streak from 1958-1974, you can probably go back even further if you look hard enough.

Ram and Evans may well reach the top 100 at some point but I don't think there is anybody from 1975 or 1980

For France I have somebody every year from 1965 to 1988(in 1964 I didn't find any : Courteau's best was 159)

Here's a list (not totally exhaustive, I guess) :

1965 Forget (4) - Benhabiles (22) - Fleurian (37)
1966 Champion (44) - Winogradsky (89)
1967 Delaitre (33) - Simian (41)
1968 Gilbert (61) - no other one (second is Solves -105)
1969 Pioline (5) - Boetsch (12)
1970 Raoux (35) - Fontang (59, current Chardy's coach)
1971 Huet (96 ... ouff) - no other one (second is Guardiola -106)
1972 Santoro (17) - no other one (second is Thomann - 106)
1973 Golmard (22) - Roux (48)
1974 Boutter (46) - no other one, I guess
1975 Saulnier (48) - Carraz (54)
1976 Escudé (17) - no other one
1977 Clément (10) - Gicquel (37)
1978 Grosjean (4) - Mutis (71)
1979 Di Pasquale (39) - no other one (Lisnard - 84 - is Monegasque )
1980 Llodra (34) - Devilder (60) - Haehnel (78) - Patience (87)
1981 Benneteau (35) - Serra (36) - Ascione (81)
1982 Mathieu (12) - Mahut (40)
1983 Edouard Roger-Vasselin (82) - no other one, I guess
1984 Simon (6) - no other one, I guess
1985 Tsonga (6) - no other one (Montcourt was near -104- )
1986 Gasquet (7) - Monfils (9) (Ouanna gets near)
1987 Chardy (32)
1988 Mannarino ((91) (Sidorenko to come probably)

Actuallly, for Spain, I didn't find one in 1969, 1979, 1984, 1987, 1988

(in 1970 Lopez-Moron was just 100)

Then I guess France has the edge
(actually it's the typical performance for which France has always the best : having many players in the top-100 ... but no top-player )

The Americans can still fill all the spots except for 1975.

Nah, he's been injured for a while. Used his PR to play USO qualies and lost 1 and 3 to Kukushkin. Only the second match he's played all year, and the first since AO qualies

I guess you know they became so, but yes, it would be good if Greatkingrat could find players who became well-known at first as Americans

For the French, until 1947 (before it gets too old because the ATP rankings started in 1973), I just miss 1951, 1955, 1961 and 1964 (if anybody could find the best Frenchman from 1951, 1955 or 1961, I would be interested )

If he got to 127, there's a slim chance he can enter the top 100 eventually.

It's quite amazing that the best position was 4th.
So, who are the promising French players born in 1989? and 1990 (Rufin,...)?

in 1990 there are Eysseric and Rufin,

but 1989 looks poor so far (I guess the best one is Stéphane Piro who reached number 940) ... (generally speaking, 1989 generation looks poor for the whole world players so far)

... but there can still be one emerging later like some other ones (Boutter, Gicquel ...)
