My commentators (on atdhe) are completely in love with Gaël. They couldn't stop talking about him, his showmaness and his wonderful athleticism and how they can't wait to see him move the crowd, and that all during Tsonga's and Simon's matches. I was like will you shut up and pay a little attention to the actual tennis ?
Anyway it has begun
I was listening to his press conference, and what does he answer when he's asked about the next step? They laugh, but I don't understand what he says: http://www.usopen.org/en_US/interact...=press#content
His wide-eyed face during the question about the women's draw is quite priceless.
In his French interviews he says he isn't afraid of Nadal physically (because the journalist says a lot of players are). But mentally. It still takes a big effort for him to stay close to his baseline, to not move back when things are getting tough. In Montreal he still had to repeat to himself after each point that he needed to be more aggressive. It's getting better here, but it's a fight with himself and it costs a lot of energy.
He sounds incredibly excited about the Nadal match in his audio interview.
It's funny how everytime he stops playing for a while he comes back playing really aggressively and looking so impressive. Then after a while he goes back to is old style. I really hope this time he sticks to it, he would be such a force.
