abraxas, I don´t know if you know it, but Dani has problems in his right foot, is injured but played.

ok, if it was 26 16 because of that injury, I ¨would say anything at all - BUT until 63 53 for DGT no signs of injury at all and suddenly problems? GIMENO stopped moving, just hiting the ball absolutely careless - like winner, error, error, error, winner, error, error - no emotions until the end of the match... I dont believe, that the cause was an injury - even when GIMENO played a doubles after this match and very easily in straight sets reached the final...

Don't forget he also played two full weeks the last weeks, so it might also be fatigue...

...the point is, that DGT yesterday looked very apathetic, lethargic and careless in the second half of the match - he just gave up in the middle of the match and did not fight anymore... I really do wonder, that he did not withdraw from the doubles - whats more a couple of hours later he won the doubles match (with Riba) in fast two sets... I guess, that an injured player would not go for doubles after such weird match...

Is your problem if you don´t believe about the injury of Dani. He played yesterday with problems in his foot. I was watching the match and I saw these problems when he was playing. Is not an excuse of him that he say it after the match (I don´t read anything where Dani said that he lost because is injured). I saw that he was injured and of course, how Ad Wim write it, Dani played two full weeks (Champion in Tarragona and final in Asunción).
And we don´t know if after the single match, he visited the fisio and he played the doubles match with less pain. In addition, is not the same play a single match that a doubles match...

Gimeno lost, that's it, end of story. He is going to finish in the top 100 and that's good.

Same thing with Ventura, he withdrew after 1 game in singles, and played doubles afterwards. These guys are also there for the money, playing singles and doubles and destroying their bodies. Ventura is struggeling for weeks with injuries now, but keeps playing every week. I guess they just need or want the money. I think the same thing holds for DGT.

And in doubles you hardly have to move ofcourse, and can still win, it is so much different from singles. And Tavares and Begemann is not exactly a good team...
