Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
Blaz did double duty in Sydney qualies. He took down Hajek and then Di Wu, now plays Harrison for a spot in the main draw.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
Come on Blaz, find some form again and qualify here. Harrison will not be easy but he can win this match.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
A very easy upset against Bellucci in the first round with a 6-3 6-1 6-3 win. Next up is James Duckworth. Huge chance to reach the third round if he keeps it together.

Good start of the season, R3 in Oz and QF in Zagreb, where he gave a match to Cilic.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
He has never been known for having a brain when it comes to scheduling, but what is up with him now?
He goes to a random US ATP and chokes to Hewitt, instead of continuing to play the American events, he returns to Europe and plays none of the tournaments there and then goes and shows up in Dubai?
And why is he not playing those challengers aka ATP events in his beloved South American jungle?

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
He is working in Dubai at times.
Blaz has been involved in a car accident, very lucky that he is alive and it will be interesting to see how he handles tennis after a big scare like this.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
That twitter pic shows nothing really. It doesn't seem like a car crash with the car being non-damaged and just a little muddy. Did he drive into a river?

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
Well he was shaken up that's pretty clear.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
It was raining a lot, trying to avoid a big pothole and lost control of the car in wet conditions. Lucky it was a robust BMW.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
I don't see how is that "very lucky to be alive". If he managed to avoid crashing into a canyon or an abyss, then maybe. Exaggerating.

Lets see losing control of the car in wet conditions. Depends on the speed the car was travelling it's not something to be trivialised. He was lucky nothing serious happened, which is what truly counts. Not like he was bumped at the lights with a slow speed from someone not braking in time.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread
He was lucky nothing serious happened is not quite the same as he was lucky to stay alive, is it? And I do agree that trivializing is not the way - but having some perspective never hurts.

What work does he do in Dubai? Is he a tennis coach to the rich & shameless?
Glad to hear he's okay after the car crash. Where did the crash happen?
