Default 2009 Tour de France - Bolar, BG, Its.Like.That, wimderon: Challenge!

Been working out how to do this. We need a seperate thread where we record the bets for the challenge. The way we do it is the way Jim and I have gone about challenges before.

Rule Number 1: You start with a bank of 40 units.
Rule Number 2: Kick each other's arse.

The winner is the guy or girl(wimderon), that claims the most units during the Tour. If you lose all your units, you're out! You won't be allowed to bet. If you have outrights, your overall ranking will then come into play when those outrights are decided. So you got to use your units wisely.

You can place bets in the other thread - that's what it's used for.

But your bets will be only be counted for the challenge if they are in here. And it's less confusing! You have until the start of the Prologue to commit!

At the end of every stage (if you placed a bet on that stage) you are to keep a record of the profit/loss and submit that in a post when you place your next bet - so we can keep track of it and know where everyone stands!

Just as an outside bet, you can also submit a bet on this competition.

Who will be the winner?

Wimderon 2.50
Bolar 3.50
BG $5
It's.Like.That $5

Who is the biggest dickhead on this forum?

its.like.that $1.01
Wimderon $1.01
Bolar $1000
BG $2000

It's on like Donkey Kong, Biatches!

Good luck!

OK let's get a few things clarified

1. NO live bets allowed.
2. All bets must be submitted no later than 10 minutes before official start time of the day
3. We are all going get the odds from the same fixed book - we can discuss which one later
4. I'm ok with the starting bank of 40 units but we need to put a cap of what the min and max bets are for any one stake. This competition should reward consistency not who chases losses better

If these are the rules, then I'm out.

Quote:
1. NO live bets allowed. - agree
2. All bets must be submitted no later than 10 minutes before official start time of the day - agree, although just before the start is good enough for me too
3. We are all going get the odds from the same fixed book - we can discuss which one later - I use several bookies for my bets, which are mainly matchups, and different matchups are offered by different books.
4. I'm ok with the starting bank of 40 units but we need to put a cap of what the min and max bets are for any one stake. This competition should reward consistency not who chases losses better - I will put way more than 40 units on pre-race bets, so that's a dealbreaker for me. The better option in my opinion is to just calculate the ROI afterwards, agree on the max stake per bet though.

I agree with BG's rules. I was hoping he would come in here and stamp down. I don't have time to think about it properly. I'm too busy.

Max bets are good!

Regarding the books!

I have an idea.

Pinacle offer the best head to head prices out there. If you want to use H2H, use Pinnacle.

Regarding the race odds, we choose either Sportingbet, Centrebet or IASbet.

Not all books offer the same markets. Some won't offer H2H's, some will. That's why we should make out what books use what method.

Pinacle - H2H
Centrebet - Win and Place

What do we do for the outright markets? I mean, Top 10, Quinella and overall head to heads? Sportingbet don't have them up, nor does Centrebet.

However, I'm getting Sportingbet to put them up.

Ok in terms of sportsbook can we limit it to say 5 for the purposes of this competition? No local books allowed, all must be fixed sportsbook widely available.

Okay - I have an idea.

Max bet 5 units?
Min bet .5 units?

I will be marking the sportsbooks I'm using.

Sportingbet - Australian and International. Centrebet, Pinnacle, IASbet. - I will mark which book I have used for my bets.

Sportingbet Australia are somewhat dodgy in their cycling markets
Centrebet is solid
IASbet have solid options
Pinnacle have best head to heads out there.
