Default Babolat Hurricane/Tour String

Anybody play with this string? Lie or dislike? What are the characteristics?

both are polyesters, with the main difference between the two being the pht has an octagonal profile to give more spin. they are stiff, control oriented strings

Thanks Jazar. Is there a string that is close to the same performance but a bit softer in feel?

most polyester strings are stiff; pro hurricane in 18 gauge and pacific poly power in 18 gauge have similar performance and a softer feel. but if you are looking for a similar performance and a softer feel the best thing would be a hybrid with a poly on the mains and a softer string on the crosses

Totally agree with Jazar's recommendations above. You might also look into Luxilon Alu Power Fluoro or Luxilon M2. Both are slightly softer than Hurricane and Hurricane Tour but fall in the same general category.

How can you go wrong with the string creator themselves!

I've been playing with Pro Hurricane Tour 17's for about two years now, and there is a reason. I've tried Luxilon, I've tried hybrid combos with VS Gut (really awesome control and feel), but for pure topspin, full poly with PHT is the way to go.

Yes it is stiff, but its the stiffness that makes it so good.
