Wanted: campsite in Croatia
Ladies and gents,
I'm planning to spend two weeks in Croatia next month and I'm looking for a campsite for one of those weeks. The first I already found a very nice one near Zadar, so pretty much in the South.
So now I'm looking for another one, and preferably not more than 2 hours drive from Umag, since I really want to visit the ATP-tournament.
But here's the thing, I'm looking for a quiet, easy-going, little campsite so not one of these huge ones with disco, swimming pool, lot of people etc.
And my experience is that the Westcoast of Istria, roughly form Umag down to Pula, is very crowded with a lot of tourists, and I don't really want that.
So please, can any one tell me a nice campsite (or just a quiet area with campsites) in Istria? Thanks!

Maybe you can find something here, and Umag is easy to reach from any part of the Istrian coast, that should not be a problem for you...

Thanks!
And I also thought Umag was well to reach from anywehre in Istria, but I am particularly looking for a quiet and beautiful part of Istria. And I think most of Istria is spoilt with mass-campsites and lots of foreign tourists...

Won't you be a foreign tourist in a camp site?

Re: Wanted: campsite in Croatia
Ofcourse I will, but not a typical one. And still, I'd like a campsite with not too many foreign tourists, especially not Dutch people...

Btw Ad Wim, I'm spending (I missed two or three hollidays) 15-20 days every year in Istria, from Piran, Portoroz to Rijeka. I see you've been there already but it's not that hard to find small, quiet camp. When I was younger I spent great days 5 km away from Porec between 'Zelena and Plava laguna', Nearby Parencium hotel you can find one very quiet, nice (not so small though) camp. Novigrad is nice place too, not so in the middle of attention like Rovinj, Porec, etc...

Me and my disorderly house mates are sure to come and look you up. Don't forget to pack earplugs, some aspirins, and a first aid kit.

Re: Wanted: campsite in Croatia
Hello.
I'd like to know how the weather in Croatia is in March. I'm planning a short vacation in Dubrovnik and I got a very nice offer from my agent but I'd like to know about the weather. Will it be possible to go to the beach?

Born in Croatia
You can't go to the beach in March but I think you really need to take that offer cause Dubrovnik is one beautiful town. And of course,I suggest Croatia in the summer time... that will be fairytale vacation

Re: Wanted: campsite in Croatia
Thank you very much mate.
I know it's a beautiful city that's why I want to visit it, good history and a lot of beautiful places to visit and there will be a one day trip to some island Karchula (not very sure about the name ). So yeah we'll go. This summer I won't have time for vacation but I hope one day I'll go to Dubrovnik in summer, I know it's nice there.
