The pac-10 has 3 dangerous teams that have the ability to beat anybody. USC headlines the field with a strong 6 and there 17-2 record proves it. They have beaten #7 Stanford twice, home and away, as well as #9 UCLA. One of there most impressive wins includes a road trip to #8 Georgia and winning 4-2. There only losses are to a loaded #5 Texas team (2-4) and a road trip to Durham against Duke (3-4). #7 Stanford and #9 UCLA are as always very solid teams, and have potential to go very far in May. They will be battling for the #2 spot. Will we see back-to-back national champions from the pac-10?

I saw that. It looked like UVA may have been up 3-0 so im not going to jump out of my seat. UNC won all of there 3 matches in the 3rd set too I think.

Duke is definitely dangerous. Im going to have to check out there schedule to see what happened to them in the out-of-confernce season.

Meanwhile, ima tackle the pac-10 and SEC standings

12 Texas A&M escapes 37 Nebraska 4-3, it came down to a final 3rd set tiebreak at court 1.

Big 12 is very solid, there are no bad teams which Nebraska proved yesterday.
More Big 12 stuff coming

Great day in the ACC!

Wake takes down #22 Florida State, 5-2. They clinched at 4-0.
Sanam Singh cliches an epic thriller in Charlottesville at 3-3, as he beats Reid Carleton at #2 in the 3rd set.
UNC also goes down to the wire, 3-3 at court #3. They were down 2-3 but Hardy rallies for a 57 75 63 clinching win.

All of these matchups are just perfect.

#35 Vanderbilt* def. #38 South Carolina 6-1
#6 Florida def. #10 Kentucky* 4-3
The Florida Gators pulled off a HUGE road win in a very crucial SEC matchup.
Kentucky took the doubles point, but there #13 team lost to Florida's #12 team at #1.
Florida regained the lead in singles at #4 and #6, but #13 Eric Quigley of Kentucky battled past #7 Lacroix of Florida at #1 76 64. At #2, #44 Musialek of Kentucky put the Cats back in the lead, 3-2 at #2 singles. But Kentucky could not seal the deal on there home courts at #3 and #5, as #6 Florida took gutsy 3 setters to win the dual 4-3 and remain unbeaten in SEC play.
#8 Georgia* def. #16 Mississippi 5-2
#3 Tennessee* def. #47 Mississippi State 5-2
#33 Alabama* def. #50 Arkansas 4-0

PAC-10 scores from the weekend

OZONE's WEEKLY FEATURE

Big Win Keeps Cardinal Eyes on the Prize

#7 Stanford Cardinal is 12-4 and 2-2 in the Pac-10 and has beaten 2 top-10 teams. It is a resume that almost every college team would like to have, but the Cardinal has been shaking its head about it.

(Tom Rinaldi voiceover here, over suddle but intense piano music)
In there match against #17 California, Stanford lost 3 3-setter. 2 of these were in 3rd set tie-breakers at 6 games all The other 3 setter was at #2, Alex Clayton lost 6-4 in the 3rd after winning the 1st set.

Stanford's next match was against #4 USC. The Cardinal luck did not change.
USC took the doubles point with a 9-7 win at #3 and a 9-8 win at #2.
In singles, USC took a 2-0 advantage with a win at #5, but Stanford leveled the dual with a win at #6 and a big upset where Alex Clayton took down #1 Steve Johnson 64 76. Stanford got ahead 3-2 as Thacher won at a 3-setter #3, but the Trojans were right back even with a 3 set win at #4.
It all came to down #5 Bradley Klahn of Stanford and #15 Robert Farah of USC. Both of these guys refused to lose. They exchanged tie-breakers in the first 2 sets, but it wsa Farah that clinched the match for USC with a 7-5 third set win in a never-ending deciding match, another heart-breaker for the Stanford Cardinal.

Stanford's other 2 losses come out-of-conference. One to a loaded #5 Texas team 0-4, and the other to #11 Baylor 3-4. Stanford has beaten #10 Kentucky, at #15 Illinois, and now at #9 UCLA. With a clutch 4-3 win on the road against a top-10 and pac-10 foe, Stanford might be the team to beat in May.
