Socket, everyone can set the board to their own timezone, so I don't know if your post was helpful to them. I think I understand what you were trying to do tho'.
Anyway, there's a world time clock on my JMG site (just click on the clock). You can either bookmark the clock, or set up your own with whatever cities you prefer. Its a handy little tool.

I was assuming that the poster had set his/her own timezone, so he/she could figure out the time difference by looking at his/her time when I said it was 4 pm in New York. But looking at the world time clock is much easier, as you say.
And the time doesn't seem to matter much, because there are no scores posted!
