it just that you missed it, even though I don't like Roger, i have never insulted or critiised him unreasonably, and I also gave credit to him when he won

Hi there mimi - hope you don't feel too bad about Rafa, he will surely be back, he just had the bad luck of bumping into an on-fire Söderling. Happens to all players once in a while, no-one is unbeatable...

This, in fact, is the spirit of this thread - you can laugh at any of the players or cry for them, as long as you don't bash them for perfectly human behaviour, show unreasonable hatred, pull quotes out of context, in other words: don't troll.
Same thing goes for fellow posters here!

You're welcome here FedFan, like I said, as long as you keep your trolling out of here.

Yes he was off some, but Soderling was playing unbelievable tennis. He was smacking winners from all over the court and held his nerve right to the last point. I was absolutely stunned at how well the guy played. He was WAY over his head. Never seen Nadal pushed around like that. Soderling dictated play for virtually the entire match.
I only saw a summary on Belgian TV late in the evening yesterday (so, disclaimer: I haven't seen it in full), but this was exactly my impression as well. I've seen quite a few posts stating that Rafa didn't play well (or even, 'like an idiot' ), but stating such doesn't give Söderling the respect and credits he truly deserves.

Rafa just can't afford to give up the baseline against a guy playing like that and he just stayed way to far back. He's got to improve his second serve and be way more aggressive on his returns, specially the 2nd serve return. Soderling was all over every short ball.
Spot-on. Like you say, both Rafke's serves, as well as his returns of serve were notably weak - lots of balls landed mid-court, and Söderling had no problems whatsoever to deal with those appropriately.

Well as for your question.. I've got D-pot over Tsonga, so my money's going on D-pot too. Gotta check now and see if the rest of the matches are up.
Money on DelPo over here as well.

hey Karin and Glen, and yes I did see it Karin

Roger should be up next after Serena finishes her opponent off, I'm so tired and didn't sleep enough but I'm keeping myself awake to catch this match, hopefully Fed will impress and make his presence felt in the draw

Karin, Don't know how much of it you saw, but Soderling pouching on the 2nd serve, even made Nadal start simply spinning in his 1st serve just to start the point and AVOID having to hit a 2nd. This was a tactically well planned and executed match by Soderling. (I'm stunned to say that, almost couldn't believe my eyes)

It will be very interesting to see how he matches up against Davy, who WILL step inside the baseline and take the court position away. Can Soderling even get close to reproducing his level from yesterday, when faced with a guy basically trying to do the same thing to him, he did to Nadal. Should be very interesting indeed.

Habib!
Well Serena has dealt with her opp quickly so you should really be able to get yourself a good look at Feds in a couple of minutes.

I saw just about an hour of the match, so most definitely not enough.
Söderling carried out the proper tactics indeed, but most of all, he deserves the props for being able to carry it out adequatly!
BTW, it once again just confirms my idea that the very dry and hot weather at RG truly benefits the players with a solid 1st serve. Hope it stays that way, but I'm sure it won't - the weather forecasts are that it will probably get a lot cooler and will start raining midway the week.

Indeed, I'm very much looking forward to that match!
BTW isn't it remarkable that Denko once again makes a silent upwards move throughout the draw, the folks are barely noticing him again... hopefully he'll manage to make it to the semis. Wouldn't at all mind it if he'd end up in the final.

Feddie is out there on court right now folks. Enjoy the match!
