Re: 2009 Grass Season ~ cheering Poussin vs Mosquito next
He gave up, I think. Well, he had played 3 wonderful rounds, if there's any consolation to this loss. But I really rather hope to see his fight coming back in tough matches like this, like he did last year, that is still missing. I hope he does get some good vibes from this tourney to go from here. His season really starts from this point on to defend most of his points from last year. He needs to get his mentality back.

If his knee was ok i would think it would be a lot closer. He has done us proud this week.

What a bad day for the French players today; the 3 are out
I am waiting for his interview to know if it came from his knee or from his lack of confidence he got the last weeks.

Re: 2009 Grass Season ~ cheering Poussin vs Mosquito next
Losing sucks. Oh well. Good luck to JC in the next round.
Ya, I think the way he lost this match is a bit discouraging, hot and cold play, and that his fighting spirit is not there. Not that he really gives up, but it's just seems he doesn't feel desperate enough to fight back. I think it's more a matter of confident than his condition. But then, playing with an injury takes a lot out of a player mentally, it's already a battle to get to play and when things don't go well in the match, that's particularly hard to gather up more mental strength to get it going. Now I hope he rests up and get ready for the 2 tourneys. He needs to get some ATP500 & 250 points to keep up his ranking.
Should also gives credit to JC. He plays with aggression and confidence. He really brings the game to Gilles. I mean, when Gilles was hitting those amazing winners in the first set and Juanqui had such difficulty to hang on to his serve, he didn't get shaky one bit. Good to see him back to his old form.

I would like to hear the interview after the match. He played okay until he got broken and had to go to a tie breaker. Hope it wasn't his knee flaring up again
