Nice fight! Maybe I'll go on Wednesday then if I don't have too much work, I'd be really curious to see him in person.

Argh, I hadn't checked his draw, probably Korolev next.

Default Re: Guillaume Rufin

The article about him in L'Equipe yesterday:
Quote:

Guillaume is on the verge of playing his first single match at the AO qualies against Haider-Maurer. Dustin Brown, Harel Levy and Sidorenko are part of his draw. Hard to giew a view about that, since that's the beginning of the year and he's got only one, albeit encouraging, match vs J.Nieminen (l. 6/2 6/7 6/3)at Sydney's qualies. Levy seems to be in good shape though and Brown is not easy either.

W 7/6 6/4 after being down 4-1 in the first set. Nice warm up for the match vs Brown to come which will be a tough test.

Rufin managed to qualify

I was certain he would meet Tomic after seing the draw without qualifiers and that's the case Very interesting match.

An audio interview on the FFT website:
http://www.fft.fr/open-australie/2010/?ID=5823

His coach Planque remembers in L'Equipe today that last year at the same time Guillaume was struggling to beat a -15 at the tournament of the TC Douai, so the progress is quite stunning.

He knows Tomic from the Juniors events, he's never played against him, but he's already seen him play. Nice challenge to play an Aussie.

Thx for the news Truc aka "the princess of links".

Guillaume plays on monday in 2nd match and due to his opponent this will be a big court(the Margaret Court arena).
