Good news Benoit is in the MD of IW without playing qualies It will give him more time to recover and adapt his game to the hard court. It's his first Masters I think Well to secure RG spot he needs to wins points but I think he has big chances to make DE in RG

He faces Berlocq on IW R1. Then, Raonic on R2. He should beat Berlocq, as it's on HC, but you never know.

Benoit lost to Berlocq 4-6 2-6 in the first round of Indian Wells. Unfortunately he was not able to make the MD of Miami, and had to qualify. He won his first qualifying match over American Alex Kuznetsov 6-1 2-6 6-4, but lost 2-6 2-6 to David Goffin in the second round of qualifying.

Benoit is provisionally ranked #100. There is a pretty good chance he's going to fall out of the top 100 after this week. He plays the Le Gosier challenger starting next week and it will be important he wins a few matches there and get to the QF/SF. He'll likely make the French Open MD cutoff but another couple of victories before the cutoff comes out in mid-April would secure it. Unfortunately, his HC form still isn't that good, we can only hope that the experience he's gaining on the surface this season will make him better on HC in the future.

Benoit plays Sergei Bubka in the first round of Le Gosier. They play tomorrow, so hopefully Benoit uses today to get used to the conditions and prepares his best for his match on Wednesday. Bubka is dangerous so Benoit will need to play well to win it.
