Jonesie was looking good at the start but faded with fatigue. Bogomolov changed up his game, started hitting his 1st serves, and started to read Jonesies serves. After three qualifying matches Jones dropped off the pace slightly and Bogo capitalised. A pity after such a dynamic start. A few things to work on, including his conditioning.

Jones beats Wayne Odesink in the first round of USO qualies 6-7 6-2 6-2. Good win considering Odesink's form. Hopfully Greg can take some confidence with this win.

What is the probability of meeting the same player in the 2nd round of qualifying at the US Open in consecutive years?? Amazing.
But Jonesie gets his revenge for last year's loss against Dusan Lojda and advances to the final round of qualifying.
Good Luck Greg

Jonesie beats No.1 seed Rainer Schuettler, currently ranked 114 but with a top ten high ranking of 5, but now, at 35 years-old in the twilightof his career, with a competent 63 62 win, to qualify for the Main Draw in Thailand Open ATP 250 tournament

Great effort by Jonesie. Tough match with German Matthias Bachinger serving off his face at 81%. Jonesie fought hard, one service game going for 26 points, with Jonesie saving 7 break points and then eventually winning the game. He is a fighter. He did not serve as well as in the qualies against Schuettler but was still around 62%.
All good experience for the 22 year-old.

Jonesie went down to Phau 6-4, 6-7, 1-6.
Amazingly he served at a very high percentage - was at 84 percent 1st serves in 2nd set (at 6-6 before the TB) - and still lost.
Phau must have returned very well. Jones lost the TB after breaking Phau 4 times, but got broken 5 times, 4 of those 1st serves.
