and most importantly he has a good psychological lead over Roddick so he was able to channel his emotions and win fairly easily in the end. But against Murray, Nadal, Djokovic his mental strenght on the big points is quite

An opponent yes, but not on clay. So to me it is troubling to see Ducky challenging Fed on clay, I was expecting better results...but nowadays I take any win from the man.

I thought he played well, too, despite the TB like you've already said. Him getting broken right at the beginning was :retard: too, but I'll forgive him for that. Plus, Roddick wasn't too bad himself, with his crazy serving.

I looooved some of the drop shots. And Roger smiling a few times during the match was just

Very good Mikey dear, thanks. Yourself? I look around and it seems you are the only one I know. What happened to the veteran posters?

I think he played very solid through out the match. I especially liked the fact that he was patient and was looping his FH a lot more. It tells me that he realizes that his flat FH is AWOL and he needs to play it safer until he gets more confidence. That is precisely what I wanted him to do. He still needs to get his 1st serve % high though.

I hope that he continues to do this against his next opponent. I want his opponent to come up with winners instead of him giving away cheap points.

Saw this on RF.com

In his on-court 'headphones' interview to Sky Sports, Roger chuckled when he said
about the DF "That was a mistake." He said that he'd tried to
get that 2nd serve to Roddick's forehand, since Roddick hadn't
been returning as well on that side, and on the backhand, he
(Roddick) had been stepping in. Roger did say there was no
need for him to go for that kind of shot, and called it a bad
decision.

I'm actually pleased he won't be playing Murray (yes I know we want Roger to be playing the best players & beating them as opposed to beating "lesser" players & getting so called easy draws that others would just sneer at saying he had it easy or whatever) but still I'd prefer he play against some players he hasn't be having as much "issue" with lately & who don't cause him as much problem so to speak, just to help the confidence build a bit more in his game. Then later he can take on the big guys he's been losing to recently. I just think if he played Murray he may end up losing even if he was in a winning position yet again & that would be another blow that would be hard to take. (I do honestly think on paper Roger would beat Murray on clay, well actually any surface really but certainly clay, but the way Roger seems to be right now I'd rather avoid the possibility of losing to him again right now.)

Now having said this, he better not lose to Delpo!
