Djokovic over Verdasco @1.83.

Verdasco is favourite against Djokovic! But he hasn't beaten anybody from the top 3 yet

ok, I got 2 pending:

Davydenko
Bolelli

and I'm tempted by Fernando ( hoping the bookies are right ), Vinci ( she's very very tough lately )
Safarova ( well, today I made an error but Lucie looked so good, hitting so many winners against Errani. )

Suarez Navarro & Wawrinka as a double also looks good. Enough Beck for this week.

Guys, did you see that Verdasco had three matchs to play tomorrow. He had two matchs in doubles with Lopez. I think that he will tank the double :

- if he reachs the SF, he will tank he won't play two matchs in doubles before his SF
- if he loss in QF, he will not be focus on his double

I bet Bhupathi/Knowles over Lopez/Verdasco @ 1.80

It's strange to see Verdasco as the fav against Djokovic.

It's also strange to see those odds going up on some of the players. I'm a bit perplexed, I'm getting vibes that apart from Kirilenko the rest is just a market manipulation.

Oh well, we'll find out pretty soon enough, I'm sure.

It looks more and more like an all Spnaish final ( VERDASCO vs NADAL ). The bookies cannot be that wrong.

Fernando Verdasco 1.91 over Novak Djokovic

Nando was absolutely splendid in destroying compatriot David Ferrer. In a spot where I thought the now #8 ranked Verdasco would struggle, the sporty Spaniard absolutely ruined Ferrer. After putting in all the necessary work during the offseason to change his body both mentally and physically, Nando now has probably the second best physique on tour and often just overpowers many of his opponents.

Djokovic wasn't very impressive in his win over Albert Montanes. The Serb won the first set, dropped the second, and then bageled the mediocre at best Spaniard. Djokovic will need a lot more than that to oust Verdasco.

These two have met 4 times twice on hard courts and twice on clay and have split all 4 meetings. Djokovic won the last two but that may not be a good barometer as to how this one will go as the world #3 was playing a lot better tennis then than he is now. I think at the end of the day Verdasco's mental strenght (who would've thought we'd say that 6 months ago?) and his ability to overpower Djokovic will be enough. This is going to be a slugfest from the back of the court, but I think Nando will boss around Nole with his awesome forehand.

Ivan Ljubicic 2.32 over Simone Bolelli

Give Ljubicic some credit. The former world #3 has seemingly turned things around a little bit after some terrible seasons. The big Croat seems to always take matches to 3 sets on clay and in fact may be a huge benficiary of the rainout yesterday. Ivan did the same thing a few weeks ago at Indian Wells when he made a deep run into the quarters before succoming to Murray.

Bolelli was solid in knocking off Swede Robin Soderling and enigmatic Serb Janko Tipsarevic. Although Bolelli hasn't ever produced big results on tour he always is, at the very least, competitive on the red dirt.

These two have nebver met but to me this is going to probably come down to a couple of tiebreakers. In that spot you have to go with Ljubicic. The veteran knows that his time be nearing an end and I doubt that Ivan won't leave everything on court and I expect him to prevail with the extra day of rest against the more inexperienced Bolelli.

Nikolay Davydenko 2.18 over David Nalbandian
You can't help but feel for Davydenko. Injury after injury has bothered him his entire career and this year was no different going through different struggles which kept him out of many tournaments early on and also didn't give him the chance to defend his title in Miami dropping him out of the top 5. The Russian has been solid this week though coming up with some nice wins including an easy win over struggling Ivo Karlovic.

Nalbandian continued his choking ways in Indian Wells blowing 5 match points en route to an atrocious loss to Nadal. Since then, he's struggled to put together good tennis bowing out in the first round in Miami to Troicki and then needing 3 sets to advance through Matheiu and Granollers, two guys a guy ranked in the top 15 should have no difficulty against.

Nalbandian has been crap all year long (aside from his win in Auckland) and is in fact only 8-5 on the year aside from that tourney. Davydenko on the other hand is well rested, hungry, and looking to be in form. Big play for me here.
