Hey guys...
The first time I saw Nicolas play, was against Todd Reid in Sydney this year. I was cheering him on along with the guy in front of me... sitting in a crowd of Aussies! It was hilarious, with his grunting, he never seemed to give up. Then in Melbourne he played Jarkko... and I had to cheer against him lol... but I do like him. Took a few photos of him in my 2004 folder (click on the sporty smiley in my signature )

What a comfortable win he had in the first round of Basel. He looked really comfortable too and his game was fine except for the serve which would have been a problem against a mightier opponent, it just went worse as the match went on. He'll have to improve that and I think he has a good chance to beat Nalbandian in the semis to win the tournament. At least I hope

Another comfortable win, vs Zabaleta! I wish I'd seen it, the score looks so good. Now lucky loser Ulihrach should be a piece of cake, warm-up for either Nalbandian or Schüttler, probably the first. I hope that one will go to 3 sets.

I saw the excellent win against Ulihrach today, he had fixed the problems he had with the serve and it looked great this time. 8-9 aces I think and plenty of his serve games were won to love. There was a bit of a scare that he might lose the second set before it went on a tiebreaker but that would have been so undeserved playing so much better. So, is it now Schüttler or Nalbandian tomorrow... I have a feeling that David and that will be difficult. Nico struggled a bit when Ulihrach found his backhand and hit some great shots with it but that's the standard for Nalbandian. I'll get to see it, so it's 3 Massu games per week (so hoping for 4, the Sunday game included), yay what a joy

I'm very disappointed with the loss. Nalbandian was beatable, if not in the first then in the second set for sure. Massu was just so far from his best, both when serving and even worse when returning. Too many pointless unforced errors, especially when he felt he needed to do something really special to beat David but in fact he didn't. I'd expect a brilliant returner like Nico to take advantage of Nalbandian's slow but unpredictable serves but instead he got confused with them. Massu's overall returning was a big waste of chances and without breaking David, he's unbeatable and so it went. I was pretty furious seeing everything go like that. Especially the lazy-ass slow arrogant complaining Argentine so deserved to be beaten by someone really passionate about the game like Nico.
