Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
Schnyder's game is really fascinating. Unlike any of the top players.
she hasn't reached a GS quarterfinal since RG and USO 1998! so for her to be in the SEMIS now is pretty interesting.
It would be interesting to see her against JHH. People speak about JHH as having finesse (which she does), but Schnyder's game is BASED around it.

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
Well, in that match, Patty basically only had to keep her racket in her hand whilst Lisa imploded.

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
This Colombian girl isn't half-bad. I'm glad she's at least making Justine work for it.
Plus, 3 really bad calls against her

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
Zuluaga did very well and should be proud, I agree.
I normally hate to harp on bad calls, but that could have been a very tight first set...

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
Yea.... it was just three really poor calls at really big times.
I'm a big advocate of the umps having Shot Spot and having to use it, though. I know that part of the sport is the unpredictability, etc but if there is a way to make it more objective and fair, I think that should be explored.

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
Did you see the Kim match?. Two shots in the corner one after the other... both called out... and both were good. One to set up game point and the other to give game point to Schnyder.

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
Cliffie wants the umpire to have shot spot to review. Give a player 2 calls a set he says.
Pam says...... have them do it with every one that's close.

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
I did see, star.... it's very frustrating. I'm with Pam. Every shot that's close. And I like what Agassi said at some point when he was asked about the problem of having the technology on every court (mucho expensivo), he said something to the effect of "well then it would motivate the players to play well enough to get put on the stadium courts wouldn't it?"

Re: "Chit Chat" Thread
Zuluaga played very well...much better than I expected. Too bad those bum line calls came at big moments. Same thing with bad calls for Kim.
I'm all for unpredictability, but only for player matchups. Not for bad line calls.
