yes he played well but suddenly when he had a chance to close it he deflated, cant be done even if it is planned
if he manages to close some wins from that kind of situations it will help

I agree. You know he started remembering the Miami fiasco when he was up in the 3rd and he completely lost the confidence. He MUST win a 3rd set to get back in the right frame of mind. Hopefully Barcelona is the place to do it.

I think that if next time he finds himself in a 3 set with a break he just shouldn't try to go for a double break. This way he'll have better chance to close a match
