Just took some medication, because it was getting worse. I hate headaches.

Probably a good idea. I used to get headaches all the time, every week day, so I couldn't use medication. Not healthy in large doses. I get them more seldom now but am still accustomed to not taking anything unless it's really, really bad.

I know how that feels, I am pretty familiar with migraines. Unfortunately I got times when it gets bad and I have several a week, but because of the strong medication I can't take medications all the time.

I am glad to hear you get headaches not that often anymore. good that you can manage it even without medication, I still think it's best. Usually I ignore headaches, unless I feel they are getting into a migraine (like today).

Yes, going without medication is not only recommended, but a personal goal. Still, occasionally there's no way around it. I try not to be too dogmatic. Evaluate the situation in hand.

Have you got anything special happening today you need to be alert for?

True! For that reason it took me quite a few years with tough migraines, before I visited a doctor the first time. Still I prefer not to take the medication. I don't really care about the headaches, I survive them, it's the sickness that comes with them, that makes me take the medication.

No, just a relaxed day here. So I guess I will take things easy, might take a nap later. But I already feel the medication going through my body, I think I should be able to go out soon.

Sounds good Almost always easier to collect yourself on a relaxed day. Except, of course, I had one yesterday and it never worked out then....no rule without exception. Now I'm at work but things are relatively quiet here.

Of course, every now and then even a relaxed day is lost due to not feeling well. I often can handle stress better, I enjoy working. As soon as I have some time off, I get headaches. Not knowing what to do with spare time

Unfortunately I recently lost my job. The labour market is impossible in the Netherlands at the moment. I am a little scared about trying to find a new job. Because I know it's difficult to find one at this moment.
I enjoyed my first week off, because I needed some time to relax. But I am afraid now, that if it takes me long to find a job, I'll have too much time to relax.

Sad to hear you have problems finding a job...of course, I know it is difficult to find one nowadays, almost everywhere in Europe. I lost my job some years ago and enjoyed the first couple of weeks, but like you it soon turned negative. After a month I found myself getting very little of everything done. The extra hours from not working simply disappeared. The job searching process was really exhausting. And that was when the outlook generally was better....Can only hope you'll find something soon. Are you looking for something in particular?

How long did it take you to find a new job?
How about your current job? Do you have a contract there, that makes you stay for a longer time?

I was a little disappointed in my company. They kept saying they were really happy with me, my work, they said I had talent. Besides, they kept saying they look for talent, want to get the right person in the right position. Then, my last temporary contract ended and to keep me they had to make my contract indefinite. At the same time there was a reorganization, and suddenly I had to go. It took me quite some time to get over this, also because I am the type who still keeps working like always. It was difficult to leave, and also difficult to look ahead.

So about a week ago I had my last day. I promised myself I could take one week of rest (luckily in combination with the Rotterdam tournament). Today I had to restart looking for jobs. Maybe I would like to look for something particular, but I think at this time it's better to keep my eyes open for anything. Luckily I am not a specialist, it is possible for me to start in a lot of different jobs. So I should just spend some hours a day searching the net, writing letters and hoping that I can soon find a match

I was out of work for eight months, even though I was not picky at all about applications, applying for basically everything. But either I was far away from what they wanted or I was overqualified and most don't want overqualified, they feel they'll leave at 1st opportunity....and, of course, it didn't help that I've always been poor at interviews. I talked my way out of at least two jobs I would have got if they'd just hired someone from the application forms/papers only. Had a few temp affairs while it lasted but those were only for a couple of days each. Was a frustrating time. I really hope you'll find something faster. Reason why I got unemployed in the first place was my small company being bought by a bigger competitor, they didn't need two HQs and downsized a bit.

My corrent job is solid, I am permanent, not temporary, and I've been here now for six years so should be good even if it ever comes to downsizing. Which looks improbable at the moment as the company is doing well. I have no wish to find another job either. I've been lucky to find this one.

Best of luck with your job search

Good that you managed to find a job with a future. There are too many small company's which don't survive at the moment. The team I guided was responsible for the billing. We got a lot of revisions for billings, of company's which went bankrupt.

Thanks a lot I hope it will take me less than 8 months to find a job, but definitely not more. (I will only receive unemployment benefits for 8 months. Disadvantage of being young.)

Thanks!

Unfortunately mine isn't totally gone yet. Apparently it was a bad migraine. Medication took it down, but that only lasted a few hours. I noticed last night the headache was coming back again. Now mostly my body hurts, telling me it feels sick. No time to be sick today though, I expect some people to visit my apartment. (Tap needs to be fixed, delivery of my freezer and delivery of a new printer)
